I’ve been very lucky to work with mental health charity, Mind, over the last few months and without doubt, one of the nicest projects I’ve picked up is Crafternoon.

Mind’s Crafternoon is a fundraising event whereby supporters sign up as ‘hosts’ and hold a Crafternoon with friends / colleagues / neighbours who all get together and get crafty!

It might include making Christmas cards, presents, candles and decorations. The potential is HUGE and for everything that is made and taken away, guests leave a small donation for Mind to help run vital services such as the Mind Infoline.

If you fancy taking part, the official Crafternoon day is on 1st December, but you can host a crafternoon whenever you like. Details for how to sign up, as well as templates and recipes can be found here.

And if you need reasons for taking part, check out my colleague, Vicky’s great guest blog on Honest Mum about how many things you can tick off your Christmas to do list by hosting a Crafternoon. For crafty inspiration, have a read of Mind supporter, Jay’s blog on House Beautiful magazine.

And finally, according to Twitter, we all have LOADS of Gu pud ramekins sitting in our cupboards. After asking for inspiration in how to re-use these little glass pots, and with a little help from Sarah Millican and Nigella Lawson, there’s tonnes of ideas for how to incorporate Gu into your Crafternoon on Twitter here.
