About me

Hi! I write as both Lucy Nichol and Lucy Roth and I’ve written several books of fiction and non fiction with a focus on revenge thriller, comedy, nostalgia, music and busting mental health myths.

I’m also a freelance writer, mental health advocate and PR consultant and my work has appeared in The Independent, The Guardian, The I Paper, Metro, NME, Red Magazine, Den of Geek, Huff Post and many more. I’m passionate about challenging mental health stigma – and particularly addiction stigma – and I’ve worked with the media in PR and marketing for over 18 years. I’ve experienced anxiety for even longer. I’m also obsessed with the 90s – the music and nostalgia feature regularly in my books.

I live in the North East, I’m married to Chris, a brilliant actor, and we have an amazing stepson called Sam. We are also owned by three cats and two chickens, and have a regular hedgehog visiting who we’ve named Hedley.
