Mental Health shootWriting is therapy. A creative outlet and a way to get to know the world, and myself, that little bit better.

PR helps others to do the same, by sharing stories and allowing people to make connections – which is why I’m proud to play a part in that too.

I’m a freelance writer, published author, PR and marketing consultant and mental health campaigner – with over 15 years’ experience working with the media. I’m especially passionate about mental health, society, education and the arts.

As a writer, I was a columnist with Sarah Millican’s Standard Issue magazine, and I’ve also written for Metro UK, NME, Red Magazine, The I Paper, The Independent, Den of Geek and Huff Post.

My first book, A Series of Unfortunate Stereotypes – naming and shaming mental health stigmas – is out now, published by charitable publisher Trigger Publishing. It’s a humorous (so I’m told) account of my experience with anxiety and the changing pop culture and stereotypes that have influenced my understanding of mental illness from the 80s to the present day.
